ZVI Logatec deals with youth with emotional and behavioural disorders. We aim to help and direct them in resolving their difficulties, which have brought them to us.
Our institution consists of a central unit in Logatec, where the upbringing of two groups takes place and two educational programmes are carried out, short term vocational upper secondary and a vocational upper secondary one. Youth that does not meet the requirements to enrol in our educational programmes (completed 7 grades of elementary school), have the option of taking final exams at an elementary school for adults. Those who attend secondary schools in Ljubljana, Postojna or Idrija, study independently and are successful at it, may continue their schooling at the chosen secondary schools even after they have been accommodated at our institution.
Beside our central unit, there are also apartment groups in Postojna, Ljubljana (called Rdeča Kljuka, i. e. Red Hook) and one in Vrhnika. Youth living in the Vrhnika unit have the option of attending our internal school in Logatec.
There is also an intensive unit in Planina intended for youth who need an individual approach in their upbringing.
In 2019 we also attained an apartment for youth who are post-institutionally supervised and are not able to return to their home environment or their home environment is far from optimal for their further development.
Our institution accepts girls and boys from the ages 14 to 21. Our central unit accepts only boys, while apartment groups accept girls as well. Youth, that are referred to us by the criminal court, may be older than 18.
The founder of ZVI Logatec is Republic of Slovenia.
